The Shimano R550 SPD-SL Resin Road pedal is a lighter and sleeker version of Shimanos entry level R540 road pedal. The R550 pedal works in the same way and takes the same cleats as the R540 but comes in 30grams lighter and has a lower profile look on the bike. If you are weight conscious or looking to upgrade from the R540 then this is a good choice. The R550 uses a large 3 bolt pattern cleat similar to the Look road pedals.
